[VS] Find and open files from your Visual Studio Solution
Do you think Resharper is too heavy but miss CTRL + T to quickly find and open files in your solution? Does Visual Studios ‘Go To All’ (CTRL + ,) not give you what you want? After reading this, you know how to use a lightweight Visual Studio extension to find and open files quickly
Visual Studio has a feature called Go To All which is triggered with
CTRL + , and looks like this:
If you search for ‘menu’, Visual Studio suggests anything that starts with ‘menu’. If you are only interested in files that start with ‘menu’ you might want to look into Ian Wrights VSFileNav, a Visual Studio extension that is dedicated to opening files from your solution.
Install in Visual Studio 2015 or 2017
- Download VSNav.vsix
- Double click to open
VSNav.vsixin Visual Studio
Hook it up to CTRL + T
- Open Tools, Options, Keyboard
- Find command
- Add a shortcut key CTRL + T in Global
- Add a shortcut key CTRL + T in Text Editor (to overwrite the existing shortcut in the Text Editor)
